The DANGERS of EATING PROCESSED MEAT!

The World was stunned with a hidden fact a majority of our meat supply in The United States of America is loaded with carcinogenic and sodium nitrite.  The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), a research division of the World Health Organization announced on Monday,October 26, 2015, that processed meats such as bacon, sausage, ham, pepperoni, beef jerky, deli slices, sandwich meat including those served at restaurants, meat “gift” products like Christmas sausages, meat in canned soups, meat in frozen pizza, meat used in childern’s lunch products, meat used in ravioli, spaghetti or Italian pasta products are included on the list of cancer causing agents.

This ingredient, which sounds harmless, is actually highly carcinogenic once it enters the human digestive system. There, it forms a variety of nitrosamine compounds that enter the bloodstream and wreak havoc with a number of internal organs: the liver and pancreas in particular. Sodium nitrite is widely regarded as a toxic ingredient, and the USDA actually tried to ban this additive in the 1970's but was vetoed by food manufacturers who complained they had no alternative for preserving packaged meat products.

A BETTER YOU!!

Detoxing for a BETTER YOU!

I had the honor of beginning a detox with my beautiful niece Ciarra White on March 3, 2014.  Our quest was to eliminate everything from our diets except organic fruits, vegetables and beans, and we would drink only alkaline water, or water with lemon or limes. 

We did our shopping at DeKalb’s Farmers Market and purchased all organic foods specifically for our detox.  So I’m specific we eliminated:  Meats, Bread, Rice, Sugar, Alcohol, Dairy of all kinds, Pasta, and Juices.  We purchased organic apples, pears, strawberries, raspberries, kiwi, oranges, kale, spinach, basil, broccoli, avocados, mint leaves, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and cilantro.  We were prepared to begin our juicing, our smoothies, and salads with olive oil dressing or Vinaigrette.

Our initial goal was to detox for five days, and then gradually begin to eliminate the foods that didn’t agree with our system.  However, after the 5^th day, my niece hung up her detox gloves, and I kept going.  It was a success for both of us, but I was determined to keep going.  My motivation came when I stepped on the scale and seen in four days of juicing and smoothies and salads, all live and or raw foods I had lost 6 pounds.  How could I stop when the scale was moving backwards?  I committed to eight more days to make my total days of detoxing 13. 

All and all I felt very well in the detox, I had a substantial amount of energy and I was pleased at how the weight was coming off by changing a simple routine of what I ate daily.  On day Five I was up to nine pounds lost and I was feeling good.  Still consuming a fruit smoothie for breakfast, a salad loaded with veggies for lunch and either a smoothie or some fruit for dinner.  It just depended how I felt and what I was lead to eat.  I can say I ate a lot of avocados, and home-made guacamole with the fresh ingredients from the Farmers Market. 

As the days went by, I began to feel lighter.  I had a PEP in my step and I could feel the change.  I slept better, my dreams were vivid, and I prayed a lot more, as I felt I needed the protection of the Creator to keep me strong and disciplined.  I’m grateful to be a testimony that on my 13^th day of successfully completing the detox I was 13 pounds lighter. 

I stand firm on the number 13, as this number is POWERFUL!  It’s a RE-BIRTH, and that’s what I feel a Re-Birth of the NEW me, a new mind, a healthier body, and my soul refreshed.  I give many thanks!! 

It’s time to embrace the BETTER YOU!!  Remember you’re what you eat and if you keep doing the same thing expecting a different result that’s insanity.  Embrace Change… Eat to LIVE… & Be a BETTER YOU!

 

I plan on Detoxing for the next couple of months with a goal to lose 13 pounds or more.  I’ll be incorporating some light cardio this time around, but if you would like to join me my target date is April 18, 2014 to April 30, 2014.  I’m giving you plenty of time to get your mind prepared.  Let this be a step in the direction of a BETTER YOU!

It’s Time to Peel the Wrapper Back

On the RAP GAME.

As I sit back and listen to TRUE HIP-HOP I ponder how the content and lyrics have changed over the years.  Some for the better and a lot for the worst; I must admit.  But what I miss most about TRUE HIP-HOP is the very essence of the craft and the ability for an MC to paint a vivid picture of their life experiences and situations on wax, or rather CD’s.  I grew up to statements like, “Don’t push me cause I’m close to the edge, Fight the Power, It’s Like that and that’s the way it is, and Be a Father to your child.”  Messages that uplifted and embraced current circumstances and issues that were arising in our communities, our neighborhoods, and States, Coast and Burroughs.  What happen to shining the light on the problems that plague us?  Since we got 99 problems and a female ain’t one.   What happen to the BOLD messages that call out the powers and principalities of this World?   Is it mums the word because our President is Black?  It’s these same powers that command the attention of the masses to move to the rhythm of their DRUM.  Do you like the beat of their DRUM better than you like your own internal beat? Can’t you feel something is off balance?   

We’re in the days where we have Money to Blow, or we Blow it like tissue, or we got Racks on Racks on Racks.  Now don’t get me wrong, because I LOVE a hot beat on a HOT track and I have nothing against any artist I have quoted. I could literally go on for days about how my brothers got it like that on wax and many in reality, but the real fact of the matter is a small portion of you have it to throw, blow and show; but the masses of your brothers and sisters are suffering.  Which brings me to my second question: Are you part of the solution or part of the problem?  The lyrics of today are about popping bottles, red bottoms, money, hoe’s and clothes and jewelry.  I can’t forget the jewelry, “The Bling-Bling!” If it’s FAKE or even if it’s the real deal you’re enticing someone less fortunate to step to you for all the wrong reasons.  Then who you going to call to get your chain back?

Personally, I feel a lot of the music lacks the substance of the real issues at hand, like the World Wide Revolution going on right in front of your eyes.  So I have to ask again, is it mums the word because our President is Black, or because you have been programmed to deny what’s going on around you?  I’m a straight shooter and I like to cut to the chase, so let me make this as plain as I can.  Is it just me out here witnessing that most of the music in HEAVY rotation has no affect on what’s going on?  Well let me do the honors of bringing you up on Millions occupying their streets, where you might get car jacked in broad daylight if that part can bring someone a knot.  Where your door can get kicked in if your grass is manicured and a Range is parked in front, or better yet, the Sherriff may roll up on you and yours and put your belongings to the curb.  In the State of Georgia, specifically Gwinnett County foreclosures are at an all-time high.  An epidemic and the percentages are soaring through the roof. The News relays messages about the behavior all around the world, but will not point out the common factor to the cause of the behavior.  For every reaction there is an ACTION!  When you turn on your television you’re turning on a negative frequency that bombards your subconscious mind with images of inferiority, low self-esteem and depression.  You’re putting yourself in a position to take in all this negativity either first thing in the morning, or in the evening before you rest your eyes.  Listening to The News coupled with the radio programming when do you give yourself time to hear or read something positive?  Many are witnessing a decay in the very fabric of this Society, natural disasters, a subdued economy, assassinations, plots, massive robberies, car thefts, rituals, and vandalism, but when I turn on the radio all I hear is money this and money that.  Contrary to what the speakers are saying, and these contracted radio hosts, when I talk to REAL people about their financial situations and their economic outlook I hear it’s hard in the PAINT, It’s REAL in the field, and gas prices are outrageous, and food prices are running a close second.  Is it boiling down to gas or groceries out here?  Millions are living check to check or behind on their mortgage payments or facing foreclosure.  These situations are very different from the reality most of the RAPPERS want to project to the world.  Can someone RING THE ALARM?? WE ARE IN A STATE OF AN EMERGENCY!!

What is it going to take for the real lyrical content to be presented to the masses?  Will it be blogging??  Will it be Independent artist?  If so, will we support these artists who bring the TRUTH?  Or do we like to be entertained with fiction?  Better yet how is the fiction or non-fiction of someone else’s life advancing you and your family?  We have to DEMAND better.  Where my LEADERS at?  Where’s my Ride or Die Familia?  Where are the outlets that support the other side of the coin, the other side of the scenario?  It’s time for us to balance the scales and give the people both aspects of this reality. 

While many say Atlanta is the Black Hollywood, there was a report disclosed that the margin between the Wealthy and the Poor is the largest in the State of Georgia.  So is “Black” Hollywood an illusion?  Wealth is for your bloodline not a temporary fix for the next G6, Maybauch, Mansion, etc... It’s for your seeds that are here and for your seeds to come.  It’s so your Heirs can chart their own destiny and not be in bondage by an oath or a contract.  Your Wealth should be transferrable to your descendants to secure peace of mind and freedom to allow them to create and dominate.  Sometimes I think the money aka Federal Reserve notes must exchange mindsets so the very function of the currency will be put to good use for the betterment of Humanity as a whole.  It’s Time to PEEL the WRAPPER back on the RAP GAME and let the REAL Leaders take the stage.

Thank you for clicking on The CREW Blog.  This Blog has been created to give you bi-weekly updates on the progress of The CREW Royalty Apparel.  Thanks to all my supportive family, friends and many others who just simply recognize fashion in the form of a FRESH Tee… I SALUTE YOU & Thank you.  It’s an undescribable feeling when you see people wearing your creations; words could never express how it makes me feel on the inside. 

Recently, we launched The JR. CREW Royalty at A I AM ROYALTY AFFAIR hosted by Amira Sherrod.  One word to describe the event is Priceless.  The young ladies were overwhelmed with excitement and flashes of cameras and cellphones were clicking for well over 20 minutes.  They were all giving I AM Royalty Tees, with a matching I AM Royalty drawstring bag.  We did our best to capture the expression and the excitement of the gift exchange.  Personally, it makes me feel good to be able to put a smile on someone else’s face and or make someone else feel REALLY special.  Do unto others as you would like it done unto you…  During this past two years I can honestly say I have made it my business to follow this principal.  Additionally, I have youth sizes of 6-8, & 14-16, Hot & Pastel Pink still available in the I AM Royalty.  These are a Royal Exclusive so you will have to contact me directly to order one.  My vision is to see ALL young girls, children, ladies & coming soon the GENTS; in an I AM Royalty.   “You shall know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH shall set you FREE.

Daily Affirmations -- Positive Reinforcement!

It's important as indigenous people of this land to begin to meditate on positive affirmations.
Start in the Rutter which is the first 20-30 minutes of the day when you open your eyes; your mind is in an Alpha state, and begin to speak positive words of affirmations over yourself, your children and your household.  Write it down and post it up!  Begin a ritual, a habit of feeding your subconscious mind positive food for thought daily and you will begin to attract your very thoughts into your life.  It's the power of our minds that allow us to speak whatever into existence.  I challenge YOU... you reading this blog to do something different.  Start your day with something positive before you do anything in the morning and you can advance to the evening right before you go to bed.  Get on your square first and then indulge in what the day has prepared for you.  It's time to change our subconscious mind -- which in turn will change our life.
